My name is Rebecca but, to everyone else I am best known as Janet. I was born and raised in beautiful Trinidad and Tobago where I found my calling for the love of children at the age of 12 years old. When I immigrated to Montreal Canada, I continued on my path to working with children for over 25 years. With the changing times I had to return to school to formalize my education in the field that I truly was and still am passionate about at Vanier College. On completion of my studies I obtained an Attestation in Early Childhood Education. This allowed me to find work at the SSMU daycare and with this decision I also found my work family. Over the past 13 years of working at McGill I have developed lifelong relationships with the children, their parents and my wonderful colleagues. I enjoy watching the children develop into their own that when graduation day comes, I am a very proud educator.
